Appreciating time

I've realised that it has now already gone 3 weeks since we arrived in Kenya. The time has flown by really quickly. And of course, as always with me, I'm already getting stressed, how am I going to have time to do everything that I want to do before I leave?!

I want to learn how to milk a cow, how to pick tealeafs, I want to be teaching about human rights, I want to be teaching about self confidence, I have to finish my project,  me and Ebba are planning a special project aswell, we want to arrange a lesson about HIV, I want the children with special needs to be seen and help them as much as I can, and not to forget, all the exiting places I want to visit, Kericho, Masai  Mara, Kisumu, Nakuru.... so much to do in so little time.

But today I've teached the children that they should not call anybody a Mzungu,  they should call me by the name Hellen  (as they say here), or Kerubo. So far so good,  everytime someone accidently said Mzungu, the other children corrected them quickly. Success? Let's hope so.

Going through life you meet people that just stick to your mind somehow. And you can't really put your finger on exactly why. This has happened to me already several times during my visit here in Kenya. I've met strong,  struggling, hard working people, and also them that just made that special impression on me. So I just want to take this opportunity  to tell you that you never know when you will meet someone special that just sticks to your mind. And when you do, make sure that that person you have met know that they are special.

" take the time to appreciate "
The children are trying to braid my hair.... beautiful they said!
